| Duo-Formed Door
Browning's new
Duo-Formed door provides increased security and fire protection. The massive
door face is formed from a continuous piece of steel plate that is bonded to a
second plate and fused to a rigid length of double-formed, custom shaped steel
for an overall door edge thickness of 1 5/16". (photos 1 & 2)
- Pry and attack
resistance -
This extra thick door is extremely pry resistant and the thicker door and
frame make the whole safe more rigid. It exceeds U.L. tool attack
certification standards.
- Superior fire
protection -
The Duo-Formed design allows Browning to install a 1" thick layer of its
own high-tech Impartial fireproofing material sandwiched between the steel
plates; increasing to 1 1/2" the total fire -resistant material in the
Duo-Formed door.
- Seemless face
- This construction
also places no welds or seams where they can be attacked. Since no welding is
required on the door face, there is no heat damage or warping during
manufacturing and the quality of the paint and finish are dramatically
improved.
- 180 Doors
- Exterior hinges allow
180 door opening and installation of fireproofing material around the entire
door frame. Internal hinges leave gaps in the fireproofing.
Locking
System and Protection
- Combination Lock
- Every Browning safe
features a heavy-duty S & G Group II, UL listed bank-type combination lock
with a spy-proof shield, internal relocker and hardplate protection.
- 1 1/4"
Diameter Steel Bolts -
Massive 1 1/4" diameter cold rolled steel bolts guard the dor's
perimeter. They are installed in the door to exacting tolerances so no fragile
plastic shims are needed. Should the door be inadvertently closed with the
bolts extended, the bolts do not strike the face of the safe body, but rather
inside the door frame where they are cushioned so they will not may the paint.

- Browning's
OmniBarrier lock protection system -
consists of multiple layers of case hardened steel in front of the main
locking system, as well as a 1/4" steel plate behind, creating an attack
resistant barrier. (photo 5)
Platinum series safes include an additional case hardened anti-drill tungsten
deflector plate. (photo 6)
Only Browning uses this type of high-quality lock system fortification. While
other manufacturers avoid this type of fortification because of its increased
cost, Browning understands you buy a safe for total protection, and we deliver
it.
- Locking Handle
Shear Pin -
When excessive force is applied to the handle, the shear pin snaps free and
the handle spins, eliminating the possibility for lock damage. Should you care
to upgrade your handle, it is easily accomplished by simply removing the pin
to replace the handle. (photo 7)
- Vault-type Cam
System -
Browning's fortress-like cam system locks bolts in the top and sides of the
door securely in place, making the door extremely resistant to attack. (photos
